Pyjamageddon
04:16
|
|||
Filled with dust
Her eyes were filled with dust
Afore the day
Twixt dark and dawn
Upon the death
Aurora born
The Risen Sun
Extends the Light
Invoke the Day
And Banish Night
My temperature is low tonight
I’ve measured it in Fahrenheit
My dreams erupt in dust and spite
Now give me back the Light
Now give it back
Pyjamageddon

Malham, Balham, Lostock Gralam,
Farnham, Barnham, Hove
Brighton, Knighton, Kirton, Titan,
Tooting, Luton, Rove
Wheels, wheels, stupid wheels
Endlessly a-turning
The golden age of steam must be
a memory that just needs burning
Rail, rail defeats John Cale
pulmonary breakdown
He died one day in a sad buffet
trying to get some mouldy cake down
Transexpansive transylcranium
Transum trancing prancing tranium
Transexpansive transylcranium
Transum trancing prancing tranium
Trains, trains, dissolved in rain
Casey Jones lies bleeding
Twisted tracks just broke his back
And now he’s catching up with his reading
[Biddy Baxter Chorus]
Jiggery Pokery
Johnny Boy Noakery
Petery Purvery
Les-er-lie Juddery
Valerie, oh Valerie, Singleton
Blind Jack of Knaresborough
described it as being a form,
a formless form of Jazz-Folk Fusion,
played by the deaf,
for the few,
in a void.

Yockenthwaite
03:59

Good things come to those who wait
In Langstrothdale, at Yockenthwaite
Honi soit qui mal y pense
All my birthdays came at once
(blue murder, a-blue blue murder)

Metal Trees
04:52
|
|||
Trees in the forest aren’t made of wood
Trees in the wood don’t grow
Round what shall the children dance in May
When all the Maypoles go?
The crows watch from the razor wire
Streams are filled with foam
Plant the fields with Orgonite
Bring the Harvest Home
See the man, dancing round the metal trees

Bread, bread, gingerbread man
My thumb smells of corned beef
Your fingers smell of cloves
I’ve got three fish
And you’ve a thousand loaves
Hello Mrs.Housewife,
Hello Mrs.Thief
Now I’ve changed my dentist,
You’ve got rotten teeth
Cinnamon bread and hot cross buns

The Modern Architrave
05:43
|
|||
Nought to gain in night’s persistence
One alone in the dark
One last drink upon the terrace
Too much beauty will break my heart
Perspire my heart decides you
Inside you, knocking on the cage
So lovely, an architect designed you
The modern architrave
(0 1 1 2 3 5 8)
Such detail, such proportion
My castle in the park
Three of us alone forever
You, the walls and my heart
Perspire my heart decides you
Inside you, knocking on the cage
So lovely, an architect designed you
The modern architrave
(0 1 1 2 3 5 8)

Rubber Road
03:16
|
|||
An armature that never turns
Black draped solo symmetry
Here in darkness we all go
Back down the rubber road
A figure stands black twisted
Limp wristed Harlequin
Some go out and some go in
Back down the rubber road
I took my car down to sea
Haunted lighthouse solitary
Confined by my geometry
Right on the rubber road
So cover me in drapery
Let my eyes refuse to see
All that is in front of me
Somewhere down the rubber road
One way out, rubber road

Crossing the Bay
03:37
|

We were crossing the bay full of stars
In our boat made of ashes and tar
(Crossing the bay)
We were weak, we were hungry
We were crossing the bay full of nails
In our boat pulled by dolphins and whales
(Crossing the bay)
We were cold, we were hungry

The Sun Unconquered
03:34
|
|||
Now the bees are dead and the birds have flown
Now the bloody sun has drowned in the ocean
Three times I called you before the dawn
Three times I walked round the bitter blackthorn
The frozen pond, first sign of winter
The Harvest Moon, The Sun Unconquered
From the burning wheel of the season’s cycle
We will cut him down, we will send him under
In the welcoming earth, ‘til the sun revives him
We will dance around him, in the dying embers
The frozen pond, first sign of winter
The Harvest Moon, The Sun Unconquered

Big Block 454 Hebden Bridge, UK
Since the late 80s, Big Block 454 has been making exploratory, highly individual music that encompasses rock, funk,
electronica, folk music, Dadaist collage and much more besides.
Each band member is a multi-instrumentalist, but Big Block 454’s approach also encompasses the creation of sound on instruments they don’t know how to play, and those that hadn’t been invented before the band made them.
